SUBJECT:    Revisions to the UC San Diego Student Conduct Code and Student Conduct Standards

The Office of Student Conduct is proposing a set of revisions to the UC San Diego Student Conduct Code and Student Conduct Standards to go into effect for Fall 2017. Some of the key proposed changes include:

* Clarifying and updating the process for processing Administrative Resolution Letters.

* Aligning student conduct record retention practices with University of California system-wide policy.

* Clarifying the grounds for sanction reduction requests.

* Rescinding and revising a majority of the Student Conduct Standards to create greater alignment with UC system-wide and UC San Diego campus policies.

The proposed changes have been reviewed and discussed by the Student Conduct Standards Group. After incorporating feedback from the group, the proposed changes are now available for review and comment by the greater campus community. To view a summary of the proposed changes and redlined versions of the Code and Student Conduct Standards showing the proposed changes, visit studentconduct.ucsd.edu.

Please direct all public comments on the proposed changes to Ben White, Director of the Office of Student Conduct at studentconduct@ucsd.edu by Friday, May 19, 2017.
