SUBJECT:    Formal Review - Employee-Initiated Reduction In Time Program

The University is proposing to renew the Employee-initiated Reduction in Time (ERIT) Program which allows career staff employees, with the exception of Senior Management Group, to voluntarily reduce their percentage of appointment and pay in order for the University to achieve salary savings. The program will be in effect from July 1, 2017.

The changes to ERIT Program include:

- Removing the ERIT Program extension
- Establishing a 36 month maximum

For exclusively represented employees, participation in the program is subject to agreement by the applicable union.

Employees who wish to provide comments on the proposed program renewal and revisions may submit them to worklife@ucsd.edu no later than May 19, 2017.
