SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Geotechnical Investigation - University Center Area (Various Drilling Stations located between: Gilman Drive and Rupertus Lane; and Myers Drive and Russel Lane)

Project Description/Location:

A geotechnical investigation will be conducted in the University Center area, with various drilling stations occurring in the areas between Gilman Drive and Rupertus Lane; and Myers Drive and Russell Lane. The purpose of the investigation is to gather sub surface soils information for the University Center area. Testing will take place Monday, September 25, 2017 through Wednesday, September 27, 2017 between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm and should not impact any road closures.

During testing hours, there will be a large, pick-up truck-sized drilling rig creating test borings in various locations which will cause some intermittent noise associated with drilling. Vibration will be felt in the immediate area of the drilling rig, however, is not cause for concern.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane and Pedestrian Impacts:

There should be no impact to street, bicycle or pedestrian traffic and there are no road closures anticipated. There will possibly be some parking spaces impacted in Lots P408 and P411 while those sites are being drilled.
