SUBJECT:    UCEAP Opportunities for Faculty & Call for Proposals

Through international academic experiences, the University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP) inspires students to explore and transform their lives, UC, and the world. Since 1962, UCEAP has supported this mission, serving some 100,000 students across all 10 UC campuses and over 32,000 international exchange students. Sustained by strong academic excellence, spirited faculty collaboration and an interrelated support system, UCEAP produces future global citizens and thought leaders. Call for Proposals - UCEAP Academic Integration Grants Program:

UCEAP has allocated $50,000 for academic departments to integrate study abroad programs and coursework into their curricula. Our goal is to fund ten teams of faculty and staff up to $5,000 each to work over the next year to make studying abroad accessible for undergraduate students. We invite you to apply, and to share this with your departmental contacts and any other faculty and staff whom you think may be interested. We welcome applications from all academic disciplines. This year priority will be given to proposals from Computer Science, Economics, and Engineering departments. For a list of proposals that were funded in 2018 and deliverables for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 grants, please see eap.ucop.edu/AI.

The deadline for submission is Wednesday November 28, 2018. Completed applications and questions about the grants can be sent to UCEAP Associate Dean Hsiu-Zu Ho and Academic Integration Analyst Katie van Meeuwen at AIntegration@eap.ucop.edu .

UCEAP partner universities will have an open call for applications from UC faculty who may be interested in teaching a course or courses in their international summer school programs: Chinese University of Hong Kong International Summer School; Fudan International Summer Session, Shangahi, China; Yonsei International Summer School, Seoul, Korea.
