SUBJECT:    Join the Campus Community for Homecoming Weekend

I invite all campus members, friends and family to join us and our alumni community on Oct. 19-21 as we celebrate a special new tradition, UC San Diego’s Homecoming 2018. Now is the perfect time to bring the entire campus together, as we welcome our students back to UC San Diego, recognize our Triton athletes as they prepare to enter NCAA Division 1, and celebrate the Triton spirit in all of us.

A complete schedule of Homecoming Weekend events can be found on the homecoming website: https://homecoming.ucsd.edu. Below are a few highlights:

Friday, Oct. 19 | 9:00-11:00 a.m. or 12:30-2:30 p.m. | RIMAC Arena
Bagels and Basketball or Bites and Basketball. Gain special access to open practices with the men’s and women’s teams. Get your foam finger and T-shirt, plus food and fun in the newly remodeled RIMAC Arena.

Friday, Oct. 19 | Noon-1:15 p.m. | The Great Hall
International Friday Café – A Friday tradition, meet people from around the world, as we celebrate feature country, China. Enjoy a delicious traditional meal while learning about East Asian culture and music.

Saturday, Oct. 20 | 4:00-9:00 p.m. | RIMAC Field and RIMAC Arena
Triton Tailgate music festival featuring Donavon Frankenreiter, and Sun God Battle of the Bands winner, Stay for the Fireworks. Enjoy a barbecue picnic dinner, craft beers from alumni brewers, family friendly lawn games, and end the night with the Triton Volleyball game.

Sunday, Oct. 21 | 10:00 a.m. – Noon | Galbraith Hall
Brunch-with-a-Prof. Join Ramachandran, Yang, Kousser and duBois, to name a few, for gourmet fare (French Toast Casserole, Hash Brown Station and Salted Caramel Bacon). Special lecture lite: "All the President's Tweets: Social Media and the New Political Rhetoric."
