SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – I-5 Switch Station Preparation, Voigt Drive & Green House Lane

Project Description/Location: Future construction of the I-5 Switch Station, located at Parking Lot P510 in the Pepper Canyon neighborhood, is scheduled to begin
Fall/Winter 2019 with anticipated completion by spring 2021. This
upgrade will require the digging of holes in the pavement to confirm the
location of underground utilities at various locations on Voigt Drive
and Greenhouse Lane and will occur Monday, December 3 through Friday,
December 7, 2018 from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The future I-5 Switch Station project will provide critical electrical
infrastructure to reliably service the existing and proposed electrical
loads for the campus. The upgrade will require the installation of
underground electrical conduits, manholes and medium voltage cables on
Voigt Drive and Greenhouse Lane. The work along Voigt Drive will be
from the West I-5 underground vault to the new switch station location
(existing parking lot P510) and from the new switch station to the
existing manholes located by Warren Field.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian impacts:

Traffic delays on Voigt Drive between Voigt Bridge and Canyon View Pool,
and on Green House Lane by parking lot P510, will occur with
intermittent closures to the east or west bound lanes. Flaggers will be
present to divert traffic during any closures. Bicycle lanes and
pedestrian sidewalks will also be impacted. Please follow signage and
allow extra time while traveling on Voigt Drive.

Please see the attached map for the impacted areas.
