ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UC SAN DIEGO (INCLUDING HEALTH SCIENCES)

SUBJECT:    Strategic Academic Program Development (SAPD) – Fall

Proposal Development Workshops In preparation for the next Strategic Academic Program Development (SAPD) Request for Proposals (RFP) coming up in January 2019, the SAPD Support Team led by Director Williams Ettouati, has planned a series of informational workshops to assist faculty and academic units with
proposal development. Each workshop will focus on either a specific type
of SAPD program or on the SAPD financial model.

UC San Diego's Strategic Academic Program Development (SAPD) Initiative
was launched last spring in response to the changing landscape of higher
education. An increasingly competitive environment, evolving learner
demand, financial pressures at the state and federal levels, and
technological advances all require that universities expand the variety
and modalities of educational programs we offer. The initial RFP yielded
an outstanding set of proposals that were well aligned with the aims of
the SAPD initiative: to enhance the experience and outcomes of students,
strengthen UC San Diego’s reputation in research and education, and grow
institutional revenues for future investment in the education and
research enterprise. Selected proposals from RFP1 are listed here:
http://adminrecords.ucsd.edu/Notices/2018/2018-6-29-3.html.

With the launch of RFP2, we look forward to working with faculty and
academic units on developing an expanded set of innovative curricular
and delivery opportunities. Please join us for one or more of these
informative workshops to engage with SAPD Support Team members, campus
experts and faculty exemplars. All of the workshops have been designed
to allow ample time for discussion/Q&A following the panel
presentations.
