The Human Resources Department Staff Education and Development and Health Human Resources Learning and Organization Effectiveness teams have collaborated to launch the UC Managing Implicit Bias Series. This is a series of eCourses designed to increase awareness of implicit bias and reduce its impact at the University.
The Series is comprised of six self-paced, online interactive courses, ranging between 15-20 minutes each in length. These courses can be completed individually; however, completing the entire series allows you to earn the UC Managing Implicit Bias Certificate.
1. What is Implicit Bias?
Further, the series has been added to the UC People Management Series and Certificate core requirements as of 2018. Launched in early 2017, the UC Systemwide People Management Series and Certificate program that builds baseline management skills for all people managers and those who aspire to manage people. The Certificate consists of Core and Elective Courses, which includes local and systemwide programs and eCourses, as well as in-person learning experiences. The certificate covers the following topics:
- Performance Management
Completing the certificate increases opportunity for promotion and potential future leadership positions, and for those who are formal supervisors/managers, provides eligibility to attend the UC People Management Conference (https://pmc.ucop.edu), a unique development opportunity specifically designed for UC People Managers.
