SUBJECT:    Reminder: Proof-of-Concept Funds Available; Deadline 3/26

The Office of Research Affairs is pleased to announce support for proof-of-concept, feasibility, and prototyping projects. Administered by the Office of Innovation and Commercialization and the Institute for the Global Entrepreneur, campus-wide funds are intended to accelerate the translation of university technologies to market. Awards will support UC San Diego's grand research themes, with innovative projects related to energy, environment, healthcare, biotechnology, and smart transportation challenges particularly encouraged.

Eligibility is open to faculty, researchers, students, and alumni. Applications for three commercialization programs can be submitted through a single portal:

- Accelerating Innovations to Market (AIM): Grant funding from $10,000-$50,000 to support early-stage proof-of-concept projects

- IGE Technology Accelerator: Grant funding up to $50,000 for prototype development and market validation

- IGE Business Accelerator: Access to mentors, investors, and partners to assist incorporated companies in scaling
