SUBJECT: | Bike to Work May 17 |
In support of the regional GO by BIKE initiative, UC San Diego will
participate in the 2018 Bike to Work Day event the morning of Thursday,
May 17. Join thousands of your fellow Tritons and other San Diegans by
participating in this nationally-recognized event, which is part of
National Bike Month.
More than 100 pit stops are being planned throughout San Diego County
for Bike to Work Day, offering bike riders the opportunity to rest and
enjoy free snacks. UC San Diego will host two pit stops that morning:
La Jolla Campus: 6-10 a.m. in Town Square near the Student Services
Center
Hillcrest Medical Center: 6-9 a.m. at the W. Arbor Drive lawn.
Transportation Services and Housing, Dining and Hospitality will provide
refreshments including bagels, muffins, fruit and coffee. Raffle prizes
will also be offered, while supplies last.
Register for Bike to Work Day by May 17 to be eligible for a free
t-shirt. Visit https://icommutesd.com/events/bike-month for more
information. To stay up-to-date on changes to bicycle infrastructure and
programs at and around UC San Diego, subscribe to Transportation
Services’ new notification service, First to Know at

Biking is a healthy, environmentally-friendly, cost-saving commute
choice. With thousands of miles of bikeways in the San Diego region and
the expansion of bike paths on campus, biking gets you where you need to
go. We hope that you will join in the fun and GO by BIKE!
