Effective Monday, August 6, 2018, visitor parking (a.k.a. metered/paystation parking) rates are increasing from $2/hr to $3/hr. Notice of the change was posted on paystations last week.
The rate change will support our investments in new parking facilities and technology to improve the customer experience and will help sustain funding for our transportation demand management programs, including campus shuttles, transit programs, ridesharing, and bicycle programs. Finally, we expect the increase in visitor parking rates to help shift students, faculty, and staff toward other parking and transportation products and services, opening up visitor parking to support community access and the public service mission of our university.
As a way of easing this transition for the community and encouraging use of our new app and phone-based payment system, ParkMobile, we will be running a promotion through the month of August under which transactions run through the ParkMobile system will still enjoy the old hourly rate. The ParkMobile app can be downloaded for Android (http://goo.gl/ap5x2q) or iOS (http://goo.gl/z29E7c). Individuals who do not carry smartphones can also pay for parking by calling 1.877.727.5932.
