ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO

SUBJECT:    Native American Heritage Month Celebration at UC San Diego

We invite all faculty, staff, and students to take part in the Native
American Heritage Month Celebration at UC San Diego. UC San Diego will
host a series of events throughout November to honor the heritage,
diverse cultures, traditions, histories and the important contributions
of Native people.

Events include:

Concert by Black Belt Eagle Scout
Film Screening of “The Party's Downstairs”
Symposium on Indigenous Language Communities of the Californias
Native American Heritage Month Celebration Kickoff and Scholarship
Awards

For a full calendar of events, visit:

In recognition of this month-long celebration, two hours of
administrative leave with pay have been approved so that employees may
participate in the Native American Heritage Celebration activities.
Supervisors are asked to allow employees to attend, as long as the
absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or
patient care.

Thank you to the members of the Native American Heritage Month
Celebration Planning Committee for their time to coordinate these
educational and celebratory events and activities.
