ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UCSD

SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – North Torrey Pines Living and Learning (P206) and Muir Lane for Construction Neighborhood: November 17, 2019 Closure of Faculty Club Parking Lot

Project Description/Location:

At midnight on Saturday, November 16, 2019, the Faculty Club Parking Lot
(P206) will be closed, as well as a portion of Muir Lane, in preparation
for construction work at the North Torrey Pines Living and Learning
Neighborhood project, with construction scheduled from 7:00am to 5pm on
Sunday, November 17.

NTPLLN is a multi-use project that includes six new buildings, complete
with student housing, academic spaces, classrooms, lecture halls,
retail, dining, and underground parking. The neighborhood will include
open space with a bike and pedestrian friendly layout that will welcome
students, staff, faculty and visitors to live, learn and work in a
community environment. The project is located adjacent to North Torrey
Pines Road between Muir College Drive and Muir Lane. This closure allows
for installation of structural steel at Building 6.

Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic, and Pedestrian Impacts:

In anticipation of the closure, please remove all vehicles parked in
P206 by 12 midnight on November 16. There will be closure to a portion
of Muir Lane from the AP&M loading dock to parking lot P206 during
construction, restricting access to Faculty Club and Peterson Hall.

The sidewalk along Muir Lane will be temporarily closed during
construction to maintain pedestrian safety. Signage will identify a
detour route to the south of the construction area.
