UC San Diego Reaffirmation of Accreditation by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)

The University of California San Diego is hosting a site visit in
connection with its reaffirmation of accreditation by the WASC Senior
College and University Commission (WSCUC) on November 20-22, 2019. On
Thursday, November 21, 2019, members of the visiting review team will
conduct a series of open meetings with students, staff, and faculty to
provide an opportunity for informal input from the campus community
about their experiences with the institution.

Students are encouraged to comment on issues of academic rigor and
consistency, availability of student support services, accuracy of
information provided by the institution, and other matters related to
the quality of the educational experience.

The open meetings are scheduled as follows:

Undergraduate Student Forum: 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
(Center Hall, Room 315)

Graduate Student Forum: 2:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
(Conference Room 111A, Chancellor's Complex)

Staff Forum: 3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
(Conference Room 111A, Chancellor's Complex)

Faculty Forum: 3:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
(Center Hall, Room 315)

Understanding that some who wish to participate will not be available to
attend these meetings, the WSCUC review team is hosting a confidential
email site so that everyone from the campus community will have the
opportunity to communicate with the team regarding their experience with
the institution. The comments are sent directly to the review team chair
and are not viewed by any representative of UC San Diego. Individuals
who wish to send comments to the review team are encouraged to do so.

Institutional reports, on-campus interviews, open sessions, and email
responses become part of the information collected and reviewed by the
team. Team members will not respond individually to comments provided
through any of these venues, including those made through the
confidential email account. This input, along with other forms of
information, will be considered as the team undertakes its work and
develops recommendations to the institution. Only comments received
prior to and during the site visit dates will be considered as part of

This email address is a secure location to which only authorized WSCUC
staff and team members have access. Students, faculty, and staff may
comment directly to the team via this email address, which has been
created by WSCUC for this use only. The team is not able to meet
individually with members of the campus community so please do not use
the email account to request private appointments. The site will be
terminated at the end of the visit.

You are encouraged to participate in our institutional reaffirmation of
accreditation by either attending one of the four open meetings or by
communicating with the WSCUC team via the above email address no later
