Center for Coastal Studies Renovation Project Description/Location:

Scripps Institution of Oceanography Center for Coastal Studies building
will undergo a major renovation. Construction will begin on March 11,
2019 and is anticipated to be complete in December 2019. The adjacent
street and sidewalk along Discovery Way and Kennel Way will remain open
and accessible during construction. Lot P007 will also remain open and
accessible during construction as well as access to the Marine Science
Development Center and Hubbs Hall.

Immediate Street Traffic, Bike Lane, and Pedestrian Impacts:

The CCS building loading zone, directly south and east, will be closed
for the duration of construction, as well as the service yard directly
east of Scholander Hall. Coastal access will remain available with
intermittent impacts to pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Flaggers will be
present to redirect traffic to ensure pedestrian safety and visitors
should proceed with caution.
