ACADEMIC SENATE FACULTY

SUBJECT:    2019: Associated Student Elections

Dear Colleagues,

I’m writing to ask if you could help promote student voting in the AS
elections, which take place April 8-12, 2019; in particular to ask your
colleagues to share this in their courses. Voter turnout in AS
elections has been lower than ideal in the past few years – and the
Referenda questions require a 20% voter turnout to be upheld. We would
like to encourage greater participation.

If you have any questions, please contact the Director of Associated
Students Administration, Heather Belk, at heather@ucsd.edu.

The 2019 AS Election occurs: Monday, April 8 at 10 am - Friday, April 12
at 4pm.

In addition to the candidates for AS and College Councils, the ballot
includes two referenda questions for undergraduate students and one
referendum question for graduate students:

· Thurgood Marshall College Activity Fee Referendum (Marshall
College students only): Regarding an increase to the Marshall College
Activity Fee

· Earl Warren College Activity Fee Referendum (Warren College
students only): Regarding an increase to the Warren College Activity Fee

· Graduate Student Association Referendum Question (graduate
students only): Regarding an increase to the Graduate Student
Association Fee

Vote on Tritonlink April 8-12, 2019. Visit https://as.ucsd.edu/elections
for more information.

Best,

John C. Moore
Dean of Undergraduate Education
