ALL ACADEMICS, STAFF AND STUDENTS AT UC SAN DIEGO (including Health)
SUBJECT: | Student Health & Well-Being Joins UC San Diego Health on Epic EHR System |
Today, UC San Diego became the first University of California campus to
bring its Student Health Services (SHS)
(https://wellness.ucsd.edu/studenthealth/Pages/default.aspx) and
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)
(https://wellness.ucsd.edu/caps/Pages/default.aspx) onto the same
electronic health record (EHR) system used by UC San Diego Health
hospitals and clinics. Being on the same Epic EHR system will make it
easier for students to access the unparalleled resources of our region’s
only academic medical center, and for our UC San Diego Health providers
to ensure effective and medically necessary services to our student
community at each step of their care.
UC San Diego students will see improved continuity of care, if they
choose to use SHS or CAPS and are referred to UC San Diego Health. They
will also have access to their own student health information through
the MyStudentChart portal (https://mystudentchart.ucsd.edu/shs/), giving
them the power to take charge of their own health. Plus, their student
health information will be protected by the same enhanced privacy and
security safeguards provided to all of our patients.
If you have any questions about the new EHR system, visit the Student
Health Services

read the information available on TritonLink

have privacy concerns, questions on implementing the policies, or would
like privacy refresher training for your department, please contact the
Office of Compliance and Privacy at 858-657-7487 or hscomply@ucsd.edu.
