SUBJECT:    Welcome Week | Hopkins Drive Closure September 22 & 24, 2019

The campus will be hosting two events on Sunday, September 22, and Tuesday, September 24, as a part of UC San Diego’s Welcome Week that will have impacts to nearby roads.

On Sunday, September 22, the Associated Students office of Concerts and Events (ASCE) will host their annual Fall Y’all Festival for our undergraduate students at RIMAC Field. Due to the construction of event infrastructure and additional security measures, Hopkins Drive will be closed from 6 p.m. – 11:59 p.m. on the evening of September 22. During that time, Hopkins Drive will be closed to all automotive, electric vehicle, bike, and pedestrian traffic in both directions between Northpoint Drive after the North Information Booth through to the Supercomputer Center.

On Tuesday, September 24, the 14th annual New Student Welcome Convocation will be held from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on RIMAC Field. Due to the construction of event infrastructure and additional security measures, Hopkins Drive will be closed from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. on September 24. During that time, Hopkins Drive will be closed to all automotive, electric vehicle, bike, and pedestrian traffic between Northpoint Drive after the North Information Booth through to the Supercomputer Center.

Please note that outbound traffic from Hopkins Parking Structure is subject to delays, as all traffic will be routed towards Voigt Drive.
