March 2, 2020
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in UC San Diego's Women’s Herstory Month Celebration throughout March. This important observance and celebration of diversity will feature a wide-range of programs focused on women’s contributions to American society and the world. This year’s theme is "Untold Stories: The 19th Amendment and Beyond." We invite you to join us for programs that explore the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, with a specific focus on the “Untold Stories” of the movement that highlight the voting rights activism of women of color. In addition, this year’s theme has been expanded to include Untold Stories of women’s activism and achievements more broadly. We hope that you can participate in UC San Diego’s commemoration of Women’s Herstory Month. For a complete list of events, please visit: https://women.ucsd.edu/programs/Womens%20Herstory%20Month.html In recognition of this annual event, two hours of administrative leave with pay have been approved for employees to attend a UC San Diego Women’s Herstory Month activity. Supervisors, upon request, may approve the use of such leave when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.
