SUBJECT:    UC San Diego Global Health Institute Funding Opportunities

UC San Diego’s Global Health Institute (GHI) is excited to announce multidisciplinary funding opportunities for 2020. GHI is seeking proposals for three different funding opportunities:

1) Research and Travel Grants for Faculty and Postdoctoral Fellows, maximum funds $10,000/research project, $1,500/person for travel
2) Student Field Experience/Research Awards, maximum funds $2,000/student
3) Student Intern Opportunities via the Global Health Interns Program, maximum funds $5,000/team

Led by Director Dr. Thomas Csordas, and Co-Directors, Dr. Steffanie Strathdee and Dr. Joshua Graff Zivin, the GHI serves as a campus-wide center of gravity for global health activities. This includes providing a central, organized structure for coordinating UC San Diego global health projects, courses, research, and training programs for the local global health community. It is expected that GHI will enable interdisciplinary conversations and collaborations between faculty, students, and fellows. The GHI includes over 400 members across all Schools and Divisions at UCSD. The GHI's thematic priority areas of interest are Global Infectious Diseases, Global Health Technologies, Global Mental Health, and Global Migrant/Refugee Health. Preference will be given to proposals relevant to the GHI’s thematic priority areas.
