SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Mid-Coast Project – Nightly Road Closures

Project Location/Description:

The Mid-Coast Light Rail Transit Project continues with the construction of underground infrastructure upgrades. The next effort includes utility crossings near The Preuss School on Voigt Drive. Voigt Drive, between Campus Point Drive and the Scripps Hospital Voigt Dr entrance, will be closed nightly (9:00pm to 5:00am) from Sunday night 4/12/20 through Friday morning 4/24/20, pending weather.

Immediate Parking Lot, Street Traffic, and Pedestrian Impacts:

Vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians will be detoured around the construction area using Campus Point Drive, Medical Center Drive, the Gilman Bridge, and Gilman Drive. Parking lot P701 will remain accessible at all times during construction hours. Emergency vehicles will have full access along Voigt Drive during construction hours. Flaggers will be present at both entrances of the construction area to help manage the emergency vehicle traffic and safely escort them through the construction site, if necessary.

Large electrical messaging boards will be placed along work confirming the dates and work hours in order to provide advanced notice to frequent travelers of the area.
