Last week the Office of the President announced a significant security incident involving UC employee information. The Office of the President continues to investigate the incident, and we expect that more details will become known over time. It is very important that every member of the UC San Diego community take steps now to protect themselves against identity theft and fraud. An interactive workshop, hosted by campus and UC San Diego Health leadership and IT personnel will be held tomorrow, Thursday, April 8, at 2 p.m. Attendees of the workshop will learn how to register for credit monitoring, how to use the credit monitoring service, and how to take other steps to protect themselves. All UC San Diego faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend the workshop.
REGISTER ONLINE. Attendees are invited to ask questions at the time of registration or during the workshop. Please note that the workshop is limited to discussing personal cybersecurity measures, including the crediting monitoring and identity theft services provided by the Office of the President. The workshop will not address specifics of the data breach incident.
