Updated FAQs About the Data Security Incident Affecting the University of California Community
Last month, the Office of the President shared information about a security event affecting the UC community, which was the result of a nationwide cyber attack.
This is a very serious incident, and it is important that every member of the UC San Diego community take steps now to protect themselves against identity theft and fraud using the resources and information that have been made available by the Office of the President.
Register with Experian IdentityWorks for credit monitoring services, using the enrollment code JCZGTC333.
Be alert for “phishing” emails or phone calls by someone who acts like they know you or are a company that you may do business with, and requests sensitive information, such as passwords, Social Security numbers or financial account information. You may report suspected phishing or social engineering attempts to communications@ucop.edu.
