Surgery Without a Scar
The UC San Diego Department of Surgery invites you to a lecture with Dr.
Santiago Horgan, MD:
Surgery Without a Scar: Revolutionary Techniques That Will Change the
Field Forever
Featured in TIME, Newsweek and CNN for performing scarless surgery, Dr.
Santiago Horgan, chief of minimally invasive surgery at UC San Diego
Health System, has received national attention for his breakthrough
surgical procedures. Dr. Horgan has pioneered techniques that decrease
or eliminate incisions by operating through natural body openings. By
eliminating major incisions, this method results in a reduced risk of
post operative hernias, a less painful and shortened recovery time and
virtually no scarring.
In his lecture, Dr. Horgan will discuss the effects this surgery will
have on the future of the field and the cautionary reality of
introducing a completely new approach that hopes to prove safe enough
for widespread use.
