The Senior Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs Organization Chart has been revised to reflect recent changes in organization. These include the appointments of the Vice Chancellor for Research and the Dean, Graduate Students. As well as the reassignment of Technology Transfer and Intellectual Properties and the Office of Contracts and Grants to Research. The chart is effective 12/1/2006.

516-1      UCSD Health & Safety Policy

This issuance implements management initiatives to integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into all activities to ensure the protection of all. The goal is to prevent all workplace injuries and illnesses, environmental incidents, and property losses or damage. Emphasizes the role of the supervisor in attaining this goal and activities requiring advanced authorization. This issuance is effective 12/1/2006.

Supplement I, Schedule of Employer Matching Contribution Rates, of PPM 395, Employee Benefit Expenditures, was updated to reflect the rates effective 7/1/2006.

510-12       UCSD Acceptable Use Policy for Ucsd Television Stations Broadcasting on the Triton Cable Network

PPM 510-12, UCSD Acceptable Use Policy for UCSD Television Stations Broadcasting on the Triton Cable Network has been issued to outline the use of the Triton Cable Network by campus televisions stations. Access to the Network for broadcasting is contingent upon adherence to this policy. This policy is effective as of 9/1/2006.

100-6      Policy on the Use of Animals in Research and Teaching

The University recognizes the importance of the use of animals in research and teaching and is committed to maintaining high standards for the care and use of animals. UCSD has adopted the “U.S. Government Principles for the Utilization and Care of Vertebrate Animals Used in Testing, Research, and Training” as its own.

Principal Investigators and other researchers responsible for the use of animals are subject to the Investigator Assurances listed in this policy. All individuals involved in the use of animals must adhere to the principles and requirements for the use of animals.
