SUBJECT: New Ceiling for the "Special Method" Certification of
Invoices for Payment Procedure
The Office of the President has recently increased the ceiling on the special method approval procedure from $1,500 to $3,000. This procedural change will be effective April 1, 1993 for the San Diego Campus.
For informational purposes, the special method is one of the standard procedures for certifying invoices for payment. The special method allows for invoices from regular vendors to be processed for payment within contracted terms unless the Accounting Office is notified otherwise by the department. (Please reference UCSD Policy and Procedure Manual Financial Administration, Section 350-2 for complete details.)
Please bring this change to the attention of those concerned with invoice processing. Manual holders are requested to annotate this increase from $1,500 to $3,000 in PPM 350-2 in the following places:
