After an extensive national search, I am pleased to announce
the appointment of Leon J. Thal, M.D. as Chair of the
Department of Neurosciences at the UCSD School of Medicine
effective immediately. Dr. Thal is an outstanding
clinician, researcher and teacher, with a clear vision for
future growth of the Department. I am delighted he has
accepted this new challenge and I look forward to working
with him in the future.
