SUBJECT: SCHOOL OF MEDICINE DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT
I am pleased to announce a reassignment of duties within the
Medical School that has led to Mr. Ron Spears assuming
responsibilities as Director of Information Technology
Support, effective immediately. Ron has worked in the
information technology arena for the school since July of
1990 and has an outstanding reputation for proficiency and
service. Ron has a B.S. degree in Information Systems from
San Diego State University. Prior to UCSD Ron spent six
years in similar work with two local information technology
companies, and four years as a defensive lineman in an
injury-shortened NFL career. I am delighted he has accepted
the new responsibilities and look forward to working with
him.
