SUBJECT: UCSD/Citicorp Diners Club Corporate Card Program
Since the implementation of the Diners Club Program on October 11, the Travel Office has received many questions and we would like to share with you the most frequently asked questions along with their corresponding answers:
Q: Whom can I talk to about the program?
A: Questions regarding UCSD Travel policy and procedure, Club Cash, and automatic payments should be directed to the Travel Office at either extension 43734 or the electronic mail box TRAVEL@ucsd. Questions regarding your Diners Club statement and specific Diners Club programs can be answered by calling Diners Club Customer Services at (800)-2-DINERS.
Q: Will the Diners Club Corporate Card affect my personal credit history?
A: The Diners Club Card is issued at the request of UCSD and
consequently your personal credit history is not influential. Diners does not report to any credit bureaus but in cases of extreme delinquency, they do reserve the right to take appropriate action.
Q: Why is there now a $6 transaction fee for cash advances?
A: The $6 is a nominal fee that is much less than the costs
associated with issuing and administering cash advances. The administrative expenses for the issuances of cash advances are not presently included in the overhead calculations. Present budgetary restraints do not permit us to continue to provide this benefit. The $6 transition fee is substantially less than the assessment that will need to be made for the issuance of a check.
Q: My department has travelers going to remote locations/specialized needs, how will these be accommodated?
A: The use of the card is to facilitate the process and to alleviate administrative costs so please communicate directly with the Travel Office at extension 43734 for assistance in accommodating your special travel requirements. Q: What are some of the other benefits?
A: No annual fee * Diners Club funds charges on the card for
approximately 60 days * Access to over 40 Diners Club exclusive International Business Centers and airport lounges * No fee Citicorp Travellers Checks * Immediate credit on lost or unused airline tickets * $350,000 free Travel Accident Insurance * Primary CDW coverage on rental cars.
To allow you more time to call and activate your Diners Club Corporate Card, the special enrollment period has been extended until November 19. For those who have traveled on university business in the past, just call (800) 588-4589. New travelers, please contact the Travel Office.
