ALL AT UCSD
SUBJECT: | Ensuring Workplace Safety |
In this time of increased societal concern over workplace safety,
we want to reassure you that UCSD is committed to maintaining a
safe environment for all faculty, staff and students. In keeping
with this commitment, you should be aware that any reported threats
of physical violence will be taken seriously and investigated.
Such threats are considered serious misconduct and may be the basis
for disciplinary action. When there is reason to be concerned that
the health, safety or well-being of members of the University
community are endangered, a licensed mental health practitioner may
be called upon to evaluate the individual making the threat.
If you or someone you know receives a threat of physical violence
from someone inside or outside the UCSD community, you should
report it immediately to one of the following offices:
CAMPUS Faculty/Staff:
Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, ext. 45523
Students:
Director of Student Policy and Judicial Affairs,
ext. 46225
In case of an emergency, dial 911 for Campus Police
MEDICAL CENTER HILLCREST/THORNTON
Faculty/Staff:
UCSDMC Security, ext. 93762
Thornton employees may also dial 911 for Campus
Police in case of an emergency
Violence, whether actual or threatened, undermines our ability to
work and learn. Please assist in ensuring that our campus is a
safe environment for all members of the University community.
