I would like to extend my very best wishes to all at UCSD and express
appreciation for your efforts during 1994. The University has
weathered tremendous difficulties, perhaps the roughest in its
history, but now appears to be emerging with it's excellence intact.
I recognize that the greatness of a university does not happen by
accident; it is dependent on the commitment and dedication of every
employee. Due to these efforts UCSD has become one of the premier
universities in the country. I am very proud of our accomplishments
and look forward to working with you in 1995.
