SUBJECT:    Proposed 1994-95 Salary Range Adjustment for Student Classes (Assistant I-III)

Consistent with the proposed range adjustment for Staff employees, a
proposal is being made to increase the salary ranges for the student
classifications of Assistant I - III by 2.2%. This would provide the
following ranges retroactive to October 1, 1994:

   Assistant I
     minimum $740/month ($4.25/hour)       0%
     maximum $1006/month ($5.78/hour)    2.2%

   Assistant II
     minimum $856/month ($4.92/hour)      2.2%
     maximum $1289/month ($7.41/hour)    2.2%

   Assistant III
     minimum $1074/month ($6.17/hour)     2.2%
     maximum $1611/month ($9.26/hour)    2.2%

Students or other interested parties wishing to comment on the
proposed ranges may do so. Written or electronic mail comments will
be accepted until December 29, 1994 and should be addressed to:

Students employed in titles in the Assistant Series in each department
should be made aware of this announcement. The comments received
during this consultation period will be carefully considered as the
final range adjustment decisions are made.
