SUBJECT:    Revised Fund Numbers for 1994-95 Specific and Special State Appropriations

In response to a University-wide need for expanded fund ranges, the
Office of the President has revised fund numbers for campus programs
with Specific and Special State Appropriations. The effective date
for implementing the changes is July 1, 1994, although expenditures
may be recorded against existing fund numbers through June 30, 1996,
as long as the funds are appropriately carried forward.

In summary, the existing fund range for Specific State Appropriations,
20501 - 20569, is replaced with 18000 - 18069. The existing fund
range for Special State Appropriations, 20570 - 20597, is replaced
with 18070 - 18199.

programs, as well as Business and Financial Services and Budget

As in past years, certain programs are assigned rotating fund number
sequences. AIDS and Tobacco Related Disease Research programs are
assigned four-number rotations. The MESA, Global Peace, Student
Financial Aid and Lease-Purchase Payments programs are assigned three-
number rotations. All remaining program funds listed remain constant.

RESPONSIBILITY

Disbursements: Establish fund/organization/program associations and
assign index numbers at the time AIDS and Tobacco Related Disease
Research grants are awarded, in coordination with the Office of
Contract and Grant Administration. No departmental action is
required.

General Accounting: Monitor spending activity, establish
fund/organization/program associations and assign index numbers for
fund 18022.

* Office of Contract and Grant Administration: Submit proposals to
the Office of the President for special programs and receive and
process incoming award documents.

Budget Operations, Planning and Analysis: Assign BD Index numbers for
those organizations which have permanent budgets in the affected
funds. Prepare and process all Transfers of Funds to move permanent
funds and FTE from the existing fund numbers to the newly assigned
fund numbers.

Departments: Request new fund numbers fund/organization/program
associations and index numbers. Process PAF's if new fund will have
salary activity. Process carry forward requests for existing funds
in accordance with campus and program guidelines. Ensure
all existing funds are expended by June 30, 1996.
