A memorandum of May 10, 1994 from Vice Chancellor Marjorie
Caserio announced that a UCSD-Internal Search Committee would be
formed to recommend candidates to replace the current Dean of
Arts and Humanities, Stanley Chodorow, who will step down from
that position on June 30, 1994, to assume the position of Provost
of the University of Pennsylvania.

The purpose of this present memorandum is to announce the
composition of that Search Committee (see above), and to inform
you of the committee's desire to receive input from all areas of
the campus community.
