SUBJECT: Discontinuation of BUS-28b Theft Buy-Down Insurance
Effective July 1, 1995, Risk Management will cease offering property insurance coverage under BUS-28b Buy-Down Deductible for Theft.
Departmental property is automatically afforded insurance coverage under BUS- 28a All Risk Property. This primary insurance has deductibles of $5,000 for non-forced entry and $1,000 for forced entry thefts. No application process is necessary and there is no cost to departments for the insurance.
Risk Management strongly advises departments to take increased precautions to safeguard theft-prone property such as computers and related equipment. Departments may contact our office or University Police for advice on preventing thefts.
