SUBJECT: Appointment - Interim Director of Staff Affirmative Action
In concurrence with the decision of Assistant Vice Chancellor
Rogers Davis and pending the filling of the vacancy, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Paula Doss as the Interim Director of Staff Affirmative Action, effective July 1, 1995.
Paula has been with the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) for nearly five years and currently serves as the manager of Professional Recruitment and Community Outreach. Prior to coming to UCSD, she worked as the Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity coordinator and as a technical recruiter for a biomedical manufacturing company. She has twenty years of experience in career development and community outreach. Much of that experience was acquired while working at the San Diego Community College District as a counselor and administrator of a public career center. Paula holds degrees in Psychology and Law.
The search to permanently fill the position is underway. An outside search firm has been retained to conduct the search and an internal search committee has been established to assist with the evaluation of candidates. It is anticipated that the search process should be concluded by November, 1995. In the meanwhile, Staff Affirmative Action will continue to provide the full range of customer services operating from the same office location.
