SUBJECT: | Quality of Work/Life Needs Assessment Executive Summary on InfoPath |
In October and November of 1994, a survey of complete life cycle work/life
initiatives was drafted and reviewed by employees and focus groups
representing UCSD's organizational and staff tier diversity. The survey was
mailed to a random sample of 4,500 UCSD campus employees requesting
respondent interest levels in the following categories:
Career Fitness Child Care
Physical & Emotional Fitness Elder Care
Retirement Bereavement
Prenatal/Adoption
Approximately 1,300 employees returned surveys and their responses have
been recorded, analyzed and summarized in the Quality of Work/Life Needs
Assessment Executive Summary. This Executive Summary, which can be found
in InfoPath, highlights important findings that will be used for planning
purposes in conjunction with other organizational needs for further
development of an integrated Quality of Work/Life Model for the UCSD
community. Although there is no guarantee that all these programs will be
implemented, the needs assessment will provide a source of information for
guiding the university's decision for future Quality of Work/Life program
planning.
The Executive Summary is available in InfoPath by selecting the following
menu items: Campus Resources and Services; Staff; Administrative
Departments; and Human Resources and Personnel. Or you may reach the Human
Resources Web directly via: TP:// WWW-HR.ucsd.edu. The Executive Summary is
located in the Policy Development and Quality of Work/Life area.
Departments are encouraged to make copies of this document for staff in
their area that do not have access to InfoPath. If you are unable to
access the Executive Summary, please contact Christine Marchetta in Human
Resources at extension 49659 or via electronic mail at
christine_marchetta@human-resources@ucsd.edu.
