Electronic Enrollment System for Staff Education and Development

The Human Resources Department is proud to announce the debut of
the Electronic Enrollment System (EES), an innovative service
developed collaboratively by the Office of Staff Education and
Development and Human Resources Information Systems. The EES
will enable you to manage your own Staff Education and
Development course enrollment activities and includes these
easy-to-use features:

*  On-line 1995-1996 Staff Education and Development Catalog
*  Interactive on-line course enrollment
*  Immediate response to course enrollment requests
*  Post-enrollment notification to supervisors via electronic mail
*  On-line course cancellation
*  On-line up-to-date course enrollment status reports
*  Automatic course reminders via electronic mail
*  Automatic eligibility assessment for most courses
*  On-line training history reports

Implementation of the Electronic Enrollment System is an
important milestone in the conversion to paperless processes. In
recognition of the fact that some departments may require time to
provide access to the EES, the paper-based enrollment system will
continue to be available until June 30, 1996. Please direct your

ELECTRONIC ENROLLMENT SYSTEM ACCESS INFORMATION:

You may access the EES through InfoPath, UCSD's World Wide
Web-based information system, or directly using the URL
"http://www-hr.ucsd.edu/~staffeducation/." To use the menus
provided on InfoPath, look under the heading "Organizations and
Resources" on the InfoPath home page and select "Administrative,"
then select "Human Resources and Personnel," and then "Staff
Education and Development."

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:

To use the EES, you will need:

*  Access to InfoPath via Telnet;
   or Netscape 1.1 or a more recent version;
   or, Mosaic 2.05 Final Beta or a more recent version
*  An Internet electronic mail address
*  Your supervisor's Internet electronic mail address

If you do not have an Internet electronic mail address, you may
contact "postmaster@ucsd.edu" on electronic mail; call the Office
of Network Operations (ONO) at 534-1857.
