SUBJECT:    DARWIN/Data Warehouse Training Classes

The ACT Customer Services Training department is pleased to announce the
roll-out of the new DARWIN/Data Warehouse training classes.

DARWIN is a data storage and query environment which uses the latest in
Graphical User Interface (GUI) technology and direct database access to
help make UCSD's information systems (IFIS, ISIS, PPS, etc.) more
assessable to the campus.

DARWIN is designed to be easy to use, flexible, and provides UCSD
personnel with the ability to create ad hoc and predefined reports on
their own departmental desktop computers. DARWIN makes it easy to move
data into other computer application areas (WordPerfect, Excel, Lotus,
Paradox, etc.). Examples of DARWIN's existing reporting capabilities are
the Operating Ledger, Budget and Staffing, Class Lists, Student Browser,
Employee, and Employee changes.

ACT Customer Services Training has scheduled several presentations to
assist Management and Department Security Administrators with
understanding the DARWIN environment.

The presentation schedule is as follows:

Management presentations are scheduled in Garren Hall (Basic Science
Bldg.):

1) January 25th, 2:00 - 3:00 P.M.
