SUBJECT: | Coaster Connection Shuttle | As a part of the continuing effort to ease parking
congestion, reduce traffic and improve local air quality,
UCSD will be providing a new 30 passenger, CNG, Coaster
Rail Shuttle service beginning on Monday, June 17, 1996.
From the Sorrento Valley rail station, there will be 8
drop off locations on campus, including the La Jolla
Medical Center and SIO. Morning departures from Sorrento
Valley are at 5:59am, 7:10am and 8:16am. Additional Coaster
trains may be served by other transit agency shuttles with
connections to UCSD. Please call 1-800-COASTER for schedule
and fare information.
Coaster or transit users to the UCSD Medical Center in
Hillcrest will be departing the Old Town Transit Center
at 6:19am, 7:01am, 7:29am, 8:08am and 8:37am. The
travel time to the Dickinson Street shuttle stop is
approximately 12 minutes.
No reservations are required, however a valid Coaster or
transit pass must be shown upon request. Rides will be
complimentary during the pilot phase of the service.
Monthly Coaster/transit pass holders may register with the
Transportation Alternatives office to be eligible for a
complimentary Occasional Use parking permit which offers
10 days of parking per quarter. An emergency "Guaranteed
Ride Home" program is also available at no cost.
