UCSD Staff Appreciation Picnic

WHO: ALL UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE INVITED
THEME: "COOLEST STAFF UNDER THE SUN"

It's that time again! Join your co-workers under the Sun god for this
year's staff appreciation picnic, sponsored by the UCSD Staff
Association.

T-SHIRTS: Really hot-looking picnic t-shirts featuring the Sun god and
the picnic theme will be available for purchase, sizes M, L, and XL for
$10, and XXL for $12, at the Staff Association Information Booth
(supply is limited so first-come, first-served). Proceeds benefit the
UCSD Staff Association Scholarship Fund.

BAKE SALE AND CAKE WALK: We need your help! We would like to have a
variety of baked goods such as cakes, cookies, brownies, and pies for
the bake sale and cake walk. Anyone who donates baked goods will
receive a coupon for a free hot dog or veggie dog at the picnic. Bake
sale items can be dropped off the morning of the picnic from 7:30-8:30
a.m. at Gilman Drive Information Booth or the Shuttle Stop at Torrey
Pines Center South. Please be sure to label cakes for the Cake Walk
separately. Contact Susanna Pastell at x46310 if you need to make
other arrangements for drop off. All proceeds benefit the UCSD Staff
Association Scholarship Fund.

ACTIVITIES: The 14th Annual Vice Chancellors' Volleyball Tournament; a
hula hoop contest and 3-legged, gunny sack, and cucumber races (great
prizes awarded!); cake walk; great music (last year's DJ back by
popular request); an arts and crafts vendor fair; bake sale; door prize
raffles; and clowns who will paint faces and make balloon animals.

EATS: A variety of foods will be available for purchase including hot
dogs; veggie dogs (we've ordered many more this year--they sold out
before noon last year!); hot links; fried rice; lumpia; teriyaki
chicken skewers; Chipwich ice cream and juice bars. FREE popcorn,
watermelon, and snow cones for all picnic participants.

RELEASE TIME: Supervisors may allow employees two hours of release
time in addition to the regular half-hour for lunch to attend the
picnic if the absence does not infringe upon the performance of
required duties.

Be there or be square! We look forward to seeing all of the
"Coolest Staff Under the Sun" at this year's staff appreciation
picnic!!
