SUBJECT: | Discontinuance of Personnel Action Form Production | Congratulations to you and your staff for the key roles you have played in
the successful implementation of UCSD's new Payroll Personnel System (PPS). The training, procedure changes and conversion from a paper-based system
has required much effort on your part and we sincerely appreciate it. With
the completion of the "roll-out" of the on-line update process and the
implementation of the WEB-Based PPS Employee History Facility, the
production of the paper Personnel Action Form (PAF) can now be
discontinued. Our records indicate that all affected areas of the campus
have received the necessary training in the details of both programs, and
therefore the production of paper PAF documents will be discontinued with
information processed after February 5, 1997.
Departments are encouraged to review their current staff responsible for PPS
on-line processing to ensure that those employees with related
responsibilities have received the necessary training. If there are any
processors who were not included in the pertinent training, please contact
the ACT training desk at 534-9783 in order that they can be included in the
next PPS or history training session(s).
It should be noted that the history database on the WEB contains current
information since its inception in September 1996. It is important for the
departments to retain any information on employee actions prior to that date.
Please contact Payroll Customer Service at 534-3240 if you experience any
difficulties with the elimination of the PAF.
