University of California employees have an opportunity through November 21 to review their benefit plans and make choices regarding health plans and providers.
UCSD Healthcare, the comprehensive system of patient services provided by UCSD's renowned faculty physicians and top-quality staff, is available through all of the health plans offered to UCSD employees, except Kaiser.
In selecting UCSD Healthcare, you have access to a full range of primary care services--including pediatrics and adolescent medicine, family practice, women's health, internal medicine, ob-gyn and health care for seniors--and specialty services. UCSD's faculty
specialists are nationally and internationally known and respected. For each of the last five years, U.S. News & World Report's "America's 
     Best Hospitals" survey has cited the UCSD Medical Center for excellence in a variety of specialties.
Quality of medical care has always been outstanding; however, a survey commissioned by UCSD Healthcare earlier this year indicated that some employees had experienced difficulties in getting appointments and that access issues may have led them to choose non-UCSD physicians. Kent Sherwood, CEO of UCSD Healthcare, has made customer service the number one priority and has launched a major initiative called Project Access, which is designed to make it faster and easier for you to see a UCSD physician. Expect to see positive changes over the coming year.
Physician offices are located in La Jolla, Hillcrest, Mira Mesa, Tierrasanta and Encinitas, and UCSD's network of affiliated community physicians makes it even more convenient for those who choose UCSD.
