SUBJECT:    Early Admission Honors (EAH) Program

The Early Admission Honors (EAH) program at the University of California, San
Diego offers the opportunity for exceptionally talented high school scholars
to enroll in UCSD at the same time they are completing their senior year of
high school. The Office of Admissions and Outreach invites all UCSD faculty
and staff to learn more about the EAH program and how their children may
participate in it.

Several information sessions have been scheduled on the UCSD campus and
students are welcome to accompany their parents:

- Saturday, January 10, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Center Hall 101
- Tuesday, January 13, from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Price Center Ballroom A
- Wednesday, January 21, from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Price Center Ballroom A
- Saturday, January 24, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Center Hall 101

EAH, under the auspices of the Office of Admissions and Outreach, has an
open filing period from November 30, 1997 - January 30, 1998 for the UCSD
Fall Quarter 1998. Applications for EAH are open to current high school
juniors who will complete twelfth grade during 1998-99. Qualifications for
the program include a grade-point average of 4.00 in all high school
courses applicable to the UC admission requirements (the "a - f pattern").
The SAT I or PSAT must also have been completed by the December, 1997, test
date.

EAH students may take up to two UCSD courses each quarter at a cost of less
than one-third of the usual tuition fees. Those who decide to continue
their education at UCSD following high school graduation may enroll without
filling out another UC application.

For further information about the EAH program please call EAH Coordinator
Patricia Reiswig at 534-4831 or Kristin Livingston, co-coordinator at
