In this time of increased societal concens about workplace safety, we want to
reassure each of you that UCSD is committed to maintaining a safe environment
for all faculty, staff and students. In keeping with this commitment, you
should be aware that any reported threats of physical violence will be taken
seriously and investigated. Such threats are considered serious misconduct and
may be the basis for disciplinary action. When there are reasons to be
concerned that the health, safety or well-being of members of the University
community are endangered, a licensed mental health practitioner may be called
upon to evaluate the individual making the threat.
If you or someone you know receives a threat of physical violence from someone
inside or outside the UCSD community, please report it immediately to one of the
following offices:

Violence, whether actual or threatened, undermines our ability to work and
learn. Please assist in ensuring that our campus is a safe environment for all
