SUBJECT: | Formal Review of Proposed Policy Changes to the University of California Personnel Policies for Staff Members, 40/Holidays |
The UC Office of President has proposed revisions to the UC Personnel
Policies for Staff Members, UCPPSM, 40/Holidays. The proposed
revisions will ensure that a full-time exempt employee is eligible for
holiday pay for holidays that fall in a week in which the employee is
on paid leave, as well as in a week in which the employee is at work.
The proposed policy changes are in accordance with staff policies in
place prior to July 1, 1996.
The proposed revisions will only affect UCPPSM 40/Holidays, Section
B/ELIGIBILITY, 1.b. and 1.e. only. To facilitate review of the
proposed revisions to Section B/ELIGIBILITY, language to be deleted
appears in capital letters and the language to be inserted has been
placed in brackets.
1.b. -- For a holiday which falls in a week in which the
employee WORKS {is on pay status},(exempt employees
only).
1.e. -- During A {an approved} leave of absence, a
temporary layoff, or furlough which does not
exceed twenty calendar days, including holidays.
Since this is a formal review, employees are invited to provide
comments to the Human Resources Department, Policy Development and
Quality of Work/Life Division. Comments must be submitted not later
than April 23, 1997. Please forward comments electronically to Jonnie
Craig at jcraig@ucsd.edu or by mail to 0922. All comments received no
later than April 23, 1997 will be summarized and forwarded to the UC
Office of the President.
