SUBJECT: | Increased Interval between Classes | Effective Fall Quarter, 1997, the interval between classes will be increased
from 10 to 15 minutes. This change was approved by the Representative
Assembly of the Academic Senate in May, 1996. The new schedule for classes is
as follows:

9:05 - 9:55 9:35 - 10:55

11:15 - 12:05 12:45 - 2:05
12:20 - 1:10 2:20 - 3:40
1:25 - 2:15 3:55 - 5:15
2:30 - 3:20 5:30 - 6:50
3:35 - 4:25
4:40 - 5:30
5:45 - 6:35
Exceptions:
Classes scheduled to meet for a 50 minute session on Tuesday or Thursday have
been assigned times consistent with the schedule for Monday, Wednesday,
Friday, in order to optimize classroom utilization.
Due to limited student populations and close proximity of classrooms, the
schedule for class meetings at the School of Medicine and the International
Relations and Pacific Studies Graduate School will continue scheduling
classes using a ten minute interval between classes.
In addition, some classes scheduled in department space (i.e. labs,
seminars, graduate courses) may be scheduled at "non-standard" times in
order to maximize space use.
The cooperation of the campus community is essential to make the transition
to this new schedule as smooth as possible. Consult the Quarterly Schedule
of Classes to learn about the schedule for specific courses, or view them
through StudentLink at:http://studentlink.ucsd.edu
