Student Pedestrian Safety Improvements on Voigt Drive At Warren Housing

As you know, there has been continuing concern regarding safety
problems at the mid-block pedestrian crossing of Voigt Drive at Warren
College Housing. AP&S has begun implementation of a plan to improve
the level of safety through the use of "traffic calming" measures at
the crosswalk. A raised crosswalk (six inches above street level),
improved street lighting, and signage are being installed on Voigt
Drive mid-block between Justice and Equality Lanes. Please proceed
slowly on this stretch of Voigt Drive as you ramp up to the pedestrian
crosswalk and ramp down to street level. The hope is that drivers
encountering the new raised crosswalk will more easily remember to
yield to pedestrians crossing at this mid-block location.

Implementation will be completed prior to the start of school.
