OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR OF
TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING SERVICES
AUXILIARY & PLANT SERVICES
September 10, 1997
KEY ADMINISTRATORS/KEY SUPPORT STAFF
SUBJECT: | Weekend Parking Fees |
We are pleased to announce that effective October 4, 1997,
Transportation and Parking Services (TPS) will no longer
charge a parking fee for campus parking facilities on
Saturdays and Sundays. This policy change will be one of
several that Parking Services will be implementing in the
Fall to make parking at UCSD more suitable to campus visitor
needs.
Both the Gilman Drive and Northpoint Information Booths will
continue to provide service to visitors from 7:00 am -
5:30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend fees will
continue to be charged at all Scripps Institution of
Oceanography areas and at the UCSD Medical Centers.
Although weekend parking fees will be eliminated on campus,
departments will still need to arrange for event
parking. For major events, the Special Events Parking
Office will be able to provide reserved parking spaces,
parking attendants, and directional or pedestrian signs. A
fee schedule has been developed for departments wishing to
utilize these services. For additional information, please
contact a Special Events Parking representative at 534-0274
or via the Transportation and Parking Services website at
(parking.ucsd.edu).
