Appointment of ACT Director of Budget & Finance

I am pleased to announce that Sheryl Gerbracht has joined the UCSD
community as the Director of Budget & Finance for Administrative Computing
and Telecommunications (ACT).

Sheryl will be responsible for coordinating all financial aspects of ACT
with special emphasis on integrating and streamlining the financial aspects
of central administrative computing, telephone, networks, and video
services. In her role, Sheryl will be exploring opportunities for reducing
costs, sustaining cost-effectiveness of ACT services, and establishing new
partnerships. She will also be closely involved in establishing funding
models for the next generation campus backbone network.

Sheryl comes to us with more than fifteen years of extensive experience in
the private sector. She held several senior financial management positions
in firms such as KPMG Peat Marwick, ITT, and Home Federal Bank. She holds
MBA and BS degrees from SDSU and she is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
in California.

I am confident that Sheryl will quickly become a recognized campus asset,
contributing to many aspects of our services. She can be contacted by
